Delete Your Data from Tilit

This page explains how to delete individual pieces of data from Tilit while keeping your account active. You can remove recommendations, photos, lists, or other content you've created.

Note: If you want to delete your entire account and all data, please visit our Account Deletion page instead.

What Data Can You Delete?

Recommendations: Individual restaurant reviews, notes, comments, ratings, tags, and photos
Lists & Collections: Custom restaurant lists, wishlists, bookmarks, and saved places
Profile Information: Profile photo, bio, display name, and location settings
Social Data: Follower connections, following lists, shared content, and activity history

How to Delete Specific Data

Option 1: Delete Items Within the App

Open the Tilit app
Navigate to the content you want to delete:
- Recommendations: Profile → Recommendations → Tap recommendation → Menu (⋮) → Delete
- Photos: Open recommendation or place → Tap photo → Delete icon
- Lists: Lists tab → Tap list → Menu (⋮) → Delete List
- Bookmarks: Bookmarks → Swipe left on item → Delete
- Profile info: Profile → Edit Profile → Remove or change information
Confirm the deletion when prompted
The data will be deleted immediately

Option 2: Request Bulk Data Deletion via Email

If you want to delete multiple items or specific types of data at once:

Send an email to tilit@urbanarmy.se with the subject "Data Deletion Request"
Include your registered email address and username
Specify what type of data you want to delete (e.g., "all my restaurant recommendations in Stockholm" or "all photos from 2025")
We will process your request within 7 business days
You will receive a confirmation email once the data has been deleted

Important Information

Deletion is permanent. Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
Your account remains active. Deleting specific data does not close your account.
Shared content: If others have bookmarked or interacted with your content, your content will be removed from their views as well.
Backup systems: Deleted data may persist in backup systems for up to 30 days before complete removal.

Data Retention After Deletion

When you delete specific data:

Immediate removal: The data is immediately removed from the app and our primary database
Backup systems: Data may remain in backup systems for up to 30 days before permanent deletion
Anonymized analytics: Anonymous usage statistics (without personal identifiers) may be retained for service improvement
Legal requirements: Any data we're legally required to retain will be kept only for the minimum required period
