Urban Army AB ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Tilit mobile application. This page explains how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal information when you use our service.

When you create an account, we collect:

Home city and country (optional)
Biography (optional)

User-Generated Content

We store content you create in the app:

Restaurant recommendations and notes
Personal tags and taste preferences
Lists and collections
Wishlists and bookmarks
Follow relationships and social connections

Location Information

We collect approximate location data (city and country) that you provide when setting your home location or when browsing restaurants. We do not track your precise GPS location.

Usage Data

We automatically collect:

App interactions and feature usage
Search queries
Device type and operating system version
Crash reports and error logs

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain the Tilit service
Enable social features (following, recommendations from friends)
Personalize your experience and show relevant content
Send notifications about activity on your account (if enabled)
Improve our service and develop new features
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Data Sharing and Disclosure

Public Information

If your profile is public, the following information is visible to other users:

Your username, display name, and profile photo
Your restaurant recommendations (unless marked private)
Your public lists
Your followers and following list

Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate Tilit:

Firebase (Google) – Authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions
Google Maps – Location and mapping services

These providers may have access to your data to perform services on our behalf and are obligated to protect your information.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
Data stored in Firebase is encrypted at rest
Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth with secure password hashing
Access to backend systems is restricted and logged

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal compliance.

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information
Delete your account and associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Control your privacy settings (public vs. private profile)

Children's Privacy

Tilit is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States (Firebase/Google Cloud). By using Tilit, you consent to such transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the app or via email. Your continued use of Tilit after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
